the occasional blogger

This was a very pithy cartoon that I found online here: http://ow.ly/i/1swJ. Many times this is too close to reality. However it is humorous look at the way some people behave. I think any further commentary is not really needed. 

This almost makes me want a minivan now. I saw one today and they definitely are light years beyond the early 90's Dodge Caravans that were the people haulers of choice when I was a youngster. I am also impressed with Toyota's marketing. Hopefully they will be able to come back from the issues with Prius owners confusing the gas pedal with the brake.

I thought this panel answered some important questions about the gospel and discipleship.

What are you thankful for right now?

Top three on my list right now... 

#1 My family, got to communicate with my brother and sister tonight.

#2 Technology that lets us connect with each other.

#3 That I live in N. Texas, it was a beautiful God given day. I got to spend a few minutes by the lake this evening and it was wonderful. 

In James it says something like this "Every good and perfect gift is from above"! Anything good in my life isn't me doing my thing it is God doing His thing! I am thankful He knows what I need cause I get it wrong all too often.

A lot of Christians live under the mistaken belief that if everyone would just "behave" then all our societal problems would be solved. Problem is if there isn't heart change there will be no long-term behavioral change. What we should desire is to see people transformed by the Gospel not just acting according to our favorite criteria of behavior. The message of the Gospel is not behave...
